How do we break this down? A bunch of entitled, wealthy women go up into space for a fraction of time, thanks to the single billionaire owner of America's biggest sweat shop chain across the country. All of them discount past ACTUAL female astronauts and act like they accomplished something. Do I have this right?

As a female scientist myself, I really appreciate you highlighting work that has been done over years, if not decades. The everyday work of NASA is not glamorous, but it deserves the spotlight more than this publicity stunt. I only regret that Nguyen’s civil rights work is being overshadowed by Perry and King.

We can contact NASA using this link to voice our dissent and let them know they must return this info to their website ASAP: https://www.nasa.gov/forms/submit-a-question-for-nasa/

These quiet removals of information from webpages are really alarming. I know the National Park Service did this by removing any mention of transgender people from its Stonewall National Monument website after Trump’s anti-trans EO as well as information about Harriet Tubman from their Underground Railroad webpage after Trump’s anti-DEI EO (though I believe after pushback it was restored). Planned Parenthood Arizona also complied in advance to Trump’s threats to pull funding and stopped providing gender affirming care briefly this past week, until it received a lot of pushback from the public and resumed providing this vital healthcare. The quiet removals of information from websites such as these are a form of caving to fascism and bigotry and will undoubtedly lead to even more dangerous compliance on the part of institutions in the future. We must speak out against it as much as possible and hold these organizations like the National Park Service and NASA accountable! In some instances, pushback from the public has encouraged institutions that complied in advance to restore the information they wiped from their websites! So there is still opportunity to stop this!

Yay! 🤗 So did I! Annoying that they only gave us 250 words but this is what I was able to say within the 250 limit, in case other folks want to use:

“It recently came to my attention that your institution laid off some really brilliant women scientists as well as eliminated multiple offices including one devoted to DEI. Please stop complying in advance with Trump’s EOs. We need you to fight back.”

I am disgusted at these women. While they behaved like spoiled brats, real educated scientists were fired. What happened to standing up for our sisters?

Thanks for posting this article. It shines light on the value of the programs that are being dismantled by climate change deniers and those who don't believe in the value of science.

Well Said Thanks for breaking it all down. They all look like a bunch of clowns in there clown suits. If they think they did something they look like the fools they are. When real women astronauts don’t get the credit they deserve. These rich women should be ashamed of themselves. But they’re not look how they all reacted.
